I hesitated to start this book because I needed some time to process The Ritual, but I'm so glad I finally gave it a chance. While there were moments that were unsettling, I found the storyline deeply intriguing and more enjoyable than I initially expected. The dark themes are intense, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart, but for those who appreciate dark romance, this book delivers in a big way. The complex characters and the twisted plot kept me hooked, and I would recommend it to any dark romance reader looking for something gripping and unforgettable.

“I want toxic. I want madness. I want someone who makes me question my sanity.”

🤍 AD -

This was an extremely dark and intense read, and while it’s not for the faint-hearted, it’s undeniably captivating. The MMC was a challenging character, and while I wished he had shown more tenderness toward Elli after everything she endured, his complexity added depth to the story. His tough exterior made the moments of softness more impactful, even if they came later than I hoped. The storyline was dark but addictive, pulling me in with every twist and turn. I have mixed feelings about certain aspects, but overall, it was a powerful read that I couldn't put down. For those who enjoy dark romances with complex characters, this book is worth a read.

“When I burn the world down and they ask me why, I’ll tell them the devil asked me to do it. And I wanted to make him proud.”

💙 AG -

This book is one of the most intense and disturbing reads I've encountered, but it also had a gripping storyline filled with unexpected twists and turns. While I struggled with some of the darker elements, especially how Sin treated the FMC, I couldn’t deny the book’s ability to keep me on the edge of my seat. The unpredictable plot and the tension between the characters made it a compelling read. Though it’s definitely not a light or easy book to get through, for fans of dark romance who can handle intense themes, it offers a uniquely powerful experience.

“If she wants to watch this house burn, I'll hand her the fucking matches.”
