God Of Ruin By Rina Kent

God Of Ruin by Rina Kent - Book 4 in the Legacy of Gods series.

Tropes: Enemies to lovers, Dark romance, College romance, Revenge plot, Artist x Mafia princess, Slow burn, Forced proximity, Morally grey hero, Emotional healing

Summary:

God of Ruin delivers another heart-stopping dark college romance that blurs the line between love and destruction. The story follows Landon King, a brilliant but tormented artist and Mia Sokolov, the daughter of a mafia boss who refuses to be anyone’s pawn.

What begins as a calculated game of revenge spirals into something deeper and more dangerous. Landon’s need for control meets Mia’s quiet defiance in a battle of wills charged with heat, hostility, and undeniable chemistry. Each move they make drags them closer to obsession, until the only question left is: who will ruin whom first?

This book is a chaotic, emotional masterpiece: full of passion, betrayal, and the signature darkness

💚 LD

I’ll admit, I was in a bit of a reading slump when I picked up God of Ruin, and I think that dulled my experience slightly but even then, this story still pulled me in. I’ve been eagerly waiting for Landon’s book after seeing glimpses of him throughout the series, and Rina Kent didn’t hold back.

Landon is every bit the brooding, brilliant, emotionally complex artist you’d expect him to be. He’s unpredictable, deeply flawed, and impossible not to be intrigued by. Mia was such a beautiful contrast: strong yet gentle, resilient despite her pain. Their chemistry was undeniable, and I absolutely adored how their relationship evolved, especially with Landon learning sign language for her. It was such a tender, emotional touch that softened his chaos.

While the pacing dragged a little in parts and felt somewhat reminiscent of earlier books, the emotional payoff made it worth it. The final chapters were intense, and the scenes with the original parents from Royal Elite and Deception always bring a nostalgic warmth.

The ending left me a little confused about Maya’s subplot, but the setup for Bran and Niko’s stories has me so excited. God of Ruin might not have been my favourite in the series, but it was a strong continuation and a must-read for anyone who loves morally grey men with too many secrets.

“Happy Birthday, little muse. Remember, a future where you don’t belong to me doesn’t exist.”

🤍 AD -

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think there was any way I’d fall for Landon King. He always seemed like the quiet, detached type in the background of the earlier books. But that’s the thing about Rina Kent: she turns the most unassuming characters into your next obsession.

By the end of God of Ruin, I was completely captivated by Landon. He’s messy, brooding, and devastatingly complex. The way he channels his darkness through art made him one of the most intriguing characters in the series. His connection with Mia was magnetic, equal parts tender and explosive.

I also loved the glimpses of Brandon and Nikolai we got throughout this book: it was the perfect tease for what’s to come next. Kent knows exactly how to weave her worlds together so that every book feels connected and alive.

God of Ruin reminded me why Rina Kent is the queen of dark academia-style romance, her writing is addictive, emotional, and always leaves me wanting more.

“Hold on to me, little muse. Quench this fucking thirsty rage inside me.” His words sound sinister in my neck. “You’re the only one who knows how.”

💙 AG -

I’ve been waiting for Landon’s story since God of Wrath, and it did not disappoint. From the very beginning, I knew I’d love this book because Landon has always been one of my favourite characters in the series, quietly intense, mysterious, and hiding layers of pain beneath his calm exterior.

The dynamic between Landon and Mia was incredible. Their chemistry was raw, emotional, and beautifully complex. The tension between them built so naturally that by the time things finally exploded, it was impossible to look away. I especially loved the way Rina Kent handled Mia’s muteness: it added such emotional depth and vulnerability to her character while making their connection feel truly unique.

This book was packed with passion, heartbreak, and tension, and while it followed the darker themes of the series, it also had a softer, more emotional edge that I really loved. It’s a perfect read for anyone who craves dark romance with heart and depth.

“My woman. My muse. My forever.”

If you thought the Legacy of Gods series couldn’t get any darker or more addictive, God of Ruin will prove you wrong. Landon King: the tortured artist with a god complex finally gets his story, and it’s every bit as destructive, beautiful, and obsessive as you’d expect. With a heroine who challenges him in all the right ways and emotional stakes that cut deep, this book is a wild descent into the madness of love and revenge.
