For The Fans by Nyla K

Tropes: MM romance, Forbidden romance, Stepbrothers, Enemies to lovers, Forced proximity, Opposites attract, Slow burn, College romance, Jock x artist, Emotional & character-driven

Summary:

A powerful, emotionally charged MM forbidden romance that blends tension, vulnerability, and undeniable chemistry. Kyran Harbor is the golden boy: rich, disciplined, and destined for NFL greatness. Avi Vega is his opposite in every way: artsy, carefree, and unapologetically himself.

Thrust together by circumstance, shared space, and a complicated family dynamic, these reluctant stepbrothers are forced into an arrangement neither of them planned for. What begins as necessity slowly unravels into something far more dangerous: connection, desire, and feelings neither can afford to have.

Raw, intimate, and deeply human, For the Fans explores identity, pressure, and what it means to choose yourself, even when the whole world is watching.

I went into For the Fans with high expectations, and somehow it still managed to exceed them. This book completely pulled me in from the start and never let go. The dynamic between Kyran and Avi was layered, emotional, and surprisingly tender, especially considering how tense and hostile things were in the beginning.

What I loved most was how naturally their relationship developed. The forced proximity, the resentment, the reluctant dependence, it all felt realistic and deeply emotional. As the story progressed, those sharp edges softened into something vulnerable and real. Their connection didn’t feel rushed or forced; it unfolded slowly, making every moment feel earned.

This book isn’t just about forbidden romance: it’s about pressure, identity, and finding freedom in the most unexpected place. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an MM romance with genuine heart and depth.

🤍 AD -

For the Fans completely took me by surprise. I loved it far more than I expected to, and once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. Kyran and Avi are complete opposites, and that contrast made their story incredibly compelling.

The tension between them was palpable from the very beginning. Every interaction felt loaded with emotion: frustration, longing, confusion and watching that slowly shift into trust and desire was addictive. The forbidden aspect added such a delicious edge to the story, making every stolen moment feel that much more intense.

What really stood out to me was how emotional this book was. It wasn’t just about attraction; it was about vulnerability and letting someone see the parts of you the world doesn’t. This was a beautiful, heartfelt MM romance that I’d happily reread.

💙 AG -

For the Fans was only my second MM romance, and it completely shattered any expectations I had. I genuinely thought I only loved MM books because of God of Fury but this one proved me very wrong. I was hooked from the first chapter.

The chemistry between Kyran and Avi was incredible. Every interaction felt natural and charged, and the forbidden element added such a fun, tension-filled layer to their story. I adored the push and pull between them, the moments of softness, and the way their connection deepened over time.

This book had heart, emotion, and characters that felt real. By the end, I was fully invested and didn’t want their story to end. It’s easily one of my favourite MM reads, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a romance that truly delivers.

“Tell me…” His voice trails off, and he gulps. I peer down at him, and his cheeks are all manners of flushed. “Tell you what?” He swallows visibly again, whispering, “Tell me you think I’m beautiful”

With its forbidden tension, slow-burn chemistry, and emotional depth, Nyla K. delivers an MM romance that doesn’t just rely on spice: it builds connection, vulnerability, and heart. If you’re new to MM romance or already obsessed, this book will stay with you long after the final page.
