I wasn’t initially excited to read this book, but by the end, I was completely blown away! Kimberly, the main heroine, is such a beautiful and layered character, both inside and out. She was vulnerable yet strong, and I couldn’t help but root for her the entire time. Xander, on the other hand, was a challenge for me. I struggled with his cruelty in the beginning, but as the story unfolded, I found myself softening toward him, too. The plot twists Rina Kent delivered were absolutely insane—just when I thought I had it all figured out, I was proven wrong! My heart broke for Kimberly on more than one occasion, and by the end, I felt so emotionally connected to her story. Rina Kent is a master at weaving in unexpected plot twists and emotional depth.

Oh, how I love Kimberly & Xander! This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster I didn’t expect. It was much deeper and rawer than I anticipated. Xander is a tough character to like at first, with his relentless cruelty and coldness, but once you get to the heart of his character and understand his motivations, it’s hard not to love him. The plot twist completely redeemed him for me. His transformation, and the way he treated Kimberly when they finally got together, melted my heart. Their love story was not easy, but it was worth every tear and frustration. I love him, I love her, and most importantly, I love them together.
“Don't change." Kiss. "Don't be fake." Kiss. "Be you." Kiss. "Be my beautiful Green.”

This book’s plot twists left me in complete SHOCK! The bullying aspect is really intense, and what Kimberly had to endure was heart-wrenching. I wasn’t prepared for how heavy the story would be, but it just made me love the book even more. The way Rina Kent deals with difficult topics is both sensitive and powerful, and Xander’s redemption arc is one of the best I’ve ever read. This book took me by surprise, and I couldn’t put it down. It’s definitely one of my top reads for anyone who loves a story that is both painful and beautiful.
