Penelope Douglas really knocked it out of the park with this one! I was completely blown away by the story and the characters. It's one of those books that I wish I hadn't waited so long to read because I absolutely loved it! The journey was filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. Although I wasn't thrilled with how it ended romantically, the overall experience was unforgettable. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're up for a rollercoaster ride, definitely give this masterpiece from the queen herself a shot!

Avoiding the bad means you risk avoiding the good, too, and I’d rather be hurt than never not feel this.

Family dynamics meet Penelope Douglas's unique style in this book, and I have to say, it was quite the ride! Her writing is phenomenal, and the story kept me hooked throughout. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending, even though it took me by surprise at times. It's definitely different, but in a good way! Douglas has a way of pushing boundaries that I really appreciate, and this book was no exception. If you're into stories that keep you guessing and leave you satisfied, this one's for you.

Pain always reminds us that we’re alive. And the fear along with it that we want to stay that way.

This book was unlike anything I've read before, and I mean that in the best way possible. Penelope Douglas really knows how to craft intriguing characters and stories. I enjoyed getting to know each character and was taken aback by some of the twists and turns. The romantic outcomes weren't what I expected, but they felt right for the story. Overall, it was an enjoyable read that kept me engaged from start to finish. If you're looking for something a bit different that still hits the mark, give this book a try!

Making a mistake takes seconds. Living with them takes a lifetime.
