William Grayson. Enough said. He was an absolute sweetheart, and his character had me hooked from the very beginning. Nightfall felt completely different from the other books in the series, which kept me on my toes, but also left me feeling a little lost for a good part of the story. The slow unraveling of the plot was gripping, though at times, I struggled to keep up with all the twists and turns.
While the book was undeniably intense and emotional, it wasn’t a 5-star read for me, mainly because I was slipping into a reading slump due to the length of the series. Emory, as a character, didn’t completely win me over—I felt frustrated with how she treated Will at times, and her personality just wasn’t my vibe. That being said, the book as a whole delivered an unforgettable reading experience, and the Devil’s Night series remains one of the most compelling and well-crafted dark romance series I’ve ever read. If you love a mix of suspense, passion, and deeply flawed yet irresistible characters, this series is a must-read.
“The role of the villain is only determined by who's telling the story”

This book completely consumed me. Nightfall took my emotions on a rollercoaster ride, and I don’t think I’ll ever recover from it. And let’s talk about William Grayson III—my obsession with this man is far from healthy. His unwavering devotion to Emory, his kindness, and the way he wore his heart on his sleeve absolutely destroyed me. The moment he uttered “Who do I have to hurt?” I knew I was done for.
From start to finish, I was hooked. The story was packed with secrets, tension, and a depth that made it impossible to put down. The new characters added so much intrigue, and the plot kept unraveling in ways I never saw coming. The emotions this book brought out in me were overwhelming—there were moments I wanted to scream, moments I wanted to cry, and moments where I just wanted to soak in every word.
I adored Emory at the beginning, but as the story progressed, she completely shattered my heart every time she hurt Will. By the end, I found myself forgiving her, but wow, she made me work for it. And don’t even get me started on how much I fell in love with the rest of the Devil’s Night characters all over again. This book was the perfect, emotional, and gut-wrenching finale to an incredible series, and I’m genuinely not ready to leave this world behind. If I could rate it 5 million stars, I would.
“But you’re going to be fucking mine someday,” he growled. “Come hell or high water, Emory Scott. You’re my woman, and you’re going to come home to me every day and sit at my table and warm my fucking bed.” He kissed me. “And you’re going to give me a Will Grayson IV. Mark my words.”

After reading Conclave, I was beyond excited to dive into Nightfall, and it did not disappoint. This book was a whirlwind of emotions, packed with unexpected twists and jaw-dropping revelations. Just when I thought I had a grip on what was happening, Penelope Douglas threw in another shocking surprise that left me absolutely mind-blown.
The chemistry between Will and Emory was intense, and despite their struggles, I really enjoyed their dynamic. Their love story was complex, emotional, and filled with angst, making it impossible to look away. Will’s depth as a character was incredible—his charm, vulnerability, and determination made him one of my absolute favorites in the series.
This book solidified Devil’s Night as one of the best dark romance series out there. It was a thrilling, passionate, and unforgettable read, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an addictive and immersive story. If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you waiting for?
